choice of handheld US device
Hello!
Recently I start looking into handheld US devices, with echo capability. I wonder if anybody ever used  Convex Pro Portable Ultrasound Scanner by DR.SONO? Does it has good cardiac settings?  Is there any site on WEB for used handheld US machines? Than you! Yosef

I am not familiar with that device. As for used markets, eBay seems to be the most consistent place some of my colleagues are selling their used devices like the Butterfly once they upgrade. Have you tried speaking to your hospital leadership to see if you can discuss having them purchase a machine for your group and show them the potential ROI through billing and improved patient safety (procedural use)?

The best money you will spend is on education. There is a whole array of manufacturers with many reported features. My belief is that you spend money for a good tool. I have found that it is wise to stick with proven solutions with obvious well-earned reputations. Yes, you may spend a bit more money, but you cry once rather than spending money on a dubious product, only to see the company fade away, and with it, your support.

I own both a GE Vscan Air CL, and a Philips phased array probe. They both interact well with readily available tablets/phones (Android and IOS)/ There is now a version of the VScan Air that provides a combination of phased array probes, and curvilinear probes. As a disclaimer, I am not paid for any endorsements, and have had no inducements to recommend their products. Only you can decide what probe makes sense for your budget and use. Having a reliable portable well-supported personal POCUS unit makes sense. Having your own allows you to use it whenever you want to practice, or use it clinically. I went the route that I went as I know that both companies are well known, and have incredible support.

With that said, I have never heard of the unit that you are asking about. The number of vendors has proliferated. Good luck in your search for a unit.
