In this webinar, Dr. Toby Richards will be presenting a summary of IV iron trials for surgical patients including preliminary results of the much-awaited ITACS trial, a randomized trial studying IV iron versus placebo in cardiac surgery patients.
Professor Toby Richards is a practicing surgeon, Professor of Surgery at University of East London, honorary professor of surgery at University College London, and honorary professor of anesthesia at Monash University. He has led a series of clinical trials to investigate the problem of anemia in major surgery, and the effect of intravenous iron including PREVENTT, ITACS, POSTVenTT and AMBLE trial.
