Methadone Matters: Tips for Inpatient Methadone Use in the Fentanyl Era

Hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder present unique challenges, especially in the era of fentanyl. This session equips hospitalists with essential skills for initiating and titrating methadone safely and effectively, using both standard and rapid protocols. We will address complex scenarios such as methadone use during pregnancy and other inpatient challenges. Finally, we will explore strategies for transition to the community, including linkage to outpatient care and take-home methadone protocols.
