Originally from Ohio, Dr. Kamath completed her medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Kamath completed an internal medicine residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio followed by fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She then came to UCLA for fellowship training in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and was recruited to join the faculty at that time.
Dr. Kamath spends her clinical time caring for a wide variety of patients- her clinical interests include women’s cardiovascular disease and prevention, cardiomyopathy patients who have cardio-oncology needs, echocardiography, cardiogenic shock and the complex care of post heart transplant patients.

Dr. Barkoudah is currently the System Chief of Hospital Medicine at Baystate Health and the Regional Chief Medical Officer/Chief Quality Officer. His research interest lies in clinical research outcomes and his work focuses on quality improvement and clinical innovation. He currently serves on several clinical innovation committees regionally and nationally.
