The SHM Connecticut Chapter is hosting an in-person event on Friday, April 26th at 6:00 p.m. ET at Fire by Forge in Hartford, CT. Please join the chapter for networking and for an educational presentation titled "Parenteral Opioids for Pain in the Hospital: A Rational Approach to a New Standard of Practice," provided by Dr. Adam Ackerman.
Dr. Ackerman recently took on the role of medical director of accreditation and regulatory affairs at Yale New Haven Health, and maintains an active hospital medicine practice at Yale New Haven Hospital. He serves as physician lead and co-director of the Yale New Haven Health Opioid Stewardship Program and continues to lead quality improvement efforts in many areas including reducing repeat hospital admissions, improving length of stay and mortality, and ensuring safe patient flow through the system. Dr. Ackerman remains active in research and in teaching internal medicine residents and students as an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine and affiliated faculty in addiction medicine in the Yale School of Medicine. He was recently honored by the American College of Physicians with an invited fellowship.
The Society of Hospital Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
