The SHM Connecticut Chapter will be hosting an in-person event on Thursday, July 11th at 6:00 p.m. ET at Essex Steam Train & Riverboat in Essex, CT. Please join the chapter for networking, a dinner riverboat charter and an educational presentation titled "Innovations in Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome," provided by Melissa Weimer, DO, MCR.

Melissa Weimer, DO, MCR is a clinician-educator who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Public Health at Yale School of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Yale Addiction Medicine Consult Service. Dr. Weimer has a clinical and research focus on expanding access to treatment for individuals with substance use disorders, particularly in the hospital setting. She is also passionate about expanding the workforce of healthcare professionals who can treat patients with substance use disorders.

The Society of Hospital Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
