The SHM Arkansas Chapter will be hosting a virtual meeting on Wednesday, March 27th at 7:00 p.m. CT. Please join the chapter for two educational presentations titled "Opiate Use Disorder in the Hospitalized Patient," provided by Dr. Anne Montgomery and "Alcohol Use Disorder in the Hospitalized Patient," provided by Dr. Abigail Richison. Both presentations will focus on topics you'll see in the hospital every day. Both speakers are engaging, passionate expert discussants who will be teaching the nuances of opiate use disorder and alcohol use disorder in the hospital. Participants will learn the intricacies of buprenorphine use in the hospital, management of complex withdrawal, and management at and after discharge for each of these common, morbid problems. 

Abigail Richison, M.D., is the assistant program director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship and an assistant professor within the UAMS Department of Psychiatry. She is board certified in Psychiatry. She serves as the primary supervising physician of the Co-Occurring Disorder Inpatient rotation.

Anne Montgomery, M.D., is an associate program director for the UAMS / Washington Regional Internal Medicine Residency Program and an internal medicine physician at Washington Regional Plaza Internal Medicine Clinic.
