The SHM Chicago Chapter will be hosting a virtual journal club on Thursday, April 3rd at 8:00 p.m. CT. They will be discussing a recent systematic review of sepsis and compliance with sepsis management bundle recently published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. As of 2026, adherence to the sepsis bundle will become a component of Medicare’s Hospital Value-Based Purchasing program, placing significant importance on enhanced compliance. A systematic review was released in the Annals of Internal Medicine in February evaluating the effect of severe sepsis and septic shock bundle compliance and implementation on mortality among patients with sepsis. Join us as we discuss this important article and determine how to reconcile its results with the new Medicare requirements.
