The SHM Hampton Roads Chapter will be hosting a virtual meeting on Thursday, February 22nd at 6:00 p.m. ET. Please join for an educational presentation titled "Updates in Opioids: Pain Management & Treatment," provided by Drs. Beverly Roberts-Atwater and Antonio Quidgley-Nevares.

Dr. Roberts-Atwater is the Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at EVMS. She directed the EVMS Spasticity Clinic since 2012 and was Director of the department’s residency training program until 2019. She is the first woman and the first African American to serve as Chair of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Quidgley-Nevares is an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a pain management specialist who has been an EVMS faculty since 2004 and served as the former Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Please join us as Dr. Roberts-Atwater and Dr. Quidgley-Nevares discuss the latest practices for assessing and managing acute and chronic pain, and review current guidelines in the appropriate use of opioids for pain management and present evidence-based strategies for recognizing and treating opioid use disorder.
