The SHM Houston Chapter will be holding their Annual Scientific Abstract Competition virtually on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Local residents and students will be showcasing their work in research, innovations and clinical research.

Call for Abstracts

The SHM Houston Chapter invites Residents and Medical Students to submit posters for its annual Scientific Abstract Competition. All submissions should include a poster using the instructions provided below.

Submission Categories: 1. Research 2. Innovations 3. Clinical Vignettes

Submission Deadline: November 24, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. CT

Submission Instructions: Please submit your abstract to the national submission site by November 24, 2025. After submission to the national submission site, please email your abstract to houstonshm@gmail.com by the same deadline.

Notification of Acceptance: Notable abstracts will be selected for oral presentations during the SHM Houston Chapter’s virtual meeting on December 13, 2025.

The top-scoring poster will receive automatic acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition taking place during SHM’s annual conference, Converge, in Nashville, TN, March 29 - April 1, 2026. This winner will be required to submit their abstract to the national submission site by the November 24, 2025 deadline in order to be accepted.
