The SHM Iowa Chapter is pleased to collaborate with the ACP Iowa Chapter and The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine for the upcoming Progress 2024 Conference being held in-person, October 3-4, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Coralville in Coralville, IA. Emphasizing the interprofessional team approach to patient care, this program combines annual internal medicine and pharmacy continuing education programs. Topics include: Cardiovascular Medicine; General Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Hospital Medicine, and Pulmonary and Critical Care.

The SHM Iowa Chapter will be hosting a Scientific Abstract Competition and lunch at Progress 2024 on Thursday, October 3rd from 11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m. CT.
Consider submitting an Abstract to the SHM Iowa chapter's Scientific Abstract Competition by the 5:00 pm, September 20th deadline. The top scoring author will win automatic acceptance to the Scientific Abstract Competition taking place at SHM National's annual conference, Converge, April 22-25 2025 in Las Vegas, NV. All attendees at the conference are welcome to attend, lunch will be served. Anyone interested in acting as a judge at the poster session should please reach out to me via email at daniel-leary@uiowa.edu.
Submit abstracts here: https://uiowa.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6ydHvw3iRePnU6q Abstracts are eligible for submission if they will not be published in a peer‐reviewed journal prior to December 31, 2024. Abstracts published in meeting proceedings or other materials that are not copyrighted are eligible for submission. It is the responsibility of the submitter to check on whether material is copyrighted. Meeting registration is not required to present a poster or submit an abstract. Instructions regarding the virtual poster presentation will be provided by email upon notification of abstract selection. Awards and prizes will be announced during Progress 2024. Judges will consider not only the quality of the initial abstract submission but also the quality of the poster and presenting author’s discussion of their work during the poster session.
