Dr. Danielle Detelich is a surgeon in the Division of Acute Care Surgery, Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Kentucky. She joined UK one year ago after completing a Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She earned her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University’s Chicago Medical School in Chicago, IL and subsequently completed General Surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Academically, Dr. Detelich is active in clinical research, quality improvement processes and the education of trainees. At UK, she has developed a multidisciplinary clinic for management of patients with enterocutaneous fistulas and has a particular clinical interest in the care of complex surgical problems.
Outside of hospital, Dr. Detelich is an avid Cleveland sports fan and loves spending time with her dog, a Chi-weenie named Ellie.
