The SHM NYC/Westchester and Long Island Chapters will host a collaborative in-person event on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Join the chapters for an evening of networking and their joint Scientific Abstract Competition.

The SHM NYC/Westchester and Long Island Chapters invite Medical Students, Residents, Physician Assistants (PAs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), PA Students, and NP Students to participate in the Scientific Abstract Competition.

Submission Instructions: Please submit abstracts via email to shmnycwestchesterlichapters@gmail.com.
The top-scoring abstract will receive automatic acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition taking place during SHM Converge 2027 in Las Vegas, NV, March 30–April 2, 2027, along with a $500 travel stipend. The winner must submit their abstract to the national submission site by the required deadline to receive automatic acceptance. Second place will receive a $250 gift card, and third place will receive a $100 gift card.
