The ACP and SHM Maryland Chapters are pleased to collaborate for a joint in-person meeting on Wednesday, November 16th at 6:00 p.m. ET at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus in Baltimore, MD. Please join the chapters for networking and an educational presentation titled "Financial Wellness: How to Build the Life of Your Dreams with a Strong Financial Game," provided by Dr. Stanley Liu.
More than ever, the medical community is recognizing the importance of promoting physician wellness. Yet financial wellness is a critical part of that wellness that is often ignored or even avoided as a taboo subject by the medical community. Join Dr. Stanley Liu as he discusses how to let your values, not financial realities, dictate your life and career choices. Dr. Liu's talk will encompass not only how to think about money from a wellness perspective, but also pragmatic and actionable tactics on strategic student loan management in late 2022, investing in your financial independence, and on speaking intelligently with a financial professional.

Dr. Stanley Liu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) and a practicing general cardiologist. As an assistant program director for the cardiology fellowship program, he started giving talks to his fellows on essential personal finance topics. Demand for his talks grew, and they are now part of the UMSOM curriculum as well as local/regional conferences. He has been recognized for his ability as an educator with multiple teaching and humanism awards at UMSOM. While not at all a financial professional, Dr. Liu is dedicated to improving the wellness of his fellow clinicians through compassionate and pragmatic financial education with no financial conflicts of interest.
