The Michigan Chapter of the Society of Hospital Medicine, in collaboration with Corewell Health Grand Rapids, is offering a comprehensive one-day point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) course on October 10, 2025, designed specifically for acute care physicians and advanced practice providers. This hands-on course is ideal for clinicians looking to build skills and gain confidence in bedside ultrasound technique. Through a combination of engaging presentations and applied learning, this dynamic course will be beneficial to both novice and experienced providers alike. During the course, participants will engage in the following topics:

• Fundamental ultrasound principles and machine operation
• Relevant clinical use at the bedside for abdominal, lung, and cardiac physiology and pathology
• Ultrasound-guided procedures
• Image interpretation

Additionally, participants will gain valuable experience by scanning live models under the guidance of expert instructors. The small group format ensures personalized feedback and a safe learning environment to explore this powerful diagnostic tool. By the end of the course, participants will leave with practical skills, clinical insight, and a stronger ability to incorporate POCUS into clinical practice.
