The Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin Chapters are having a joint chapter meeting on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 7:00 PM CDT. Please join us for a discussion titled, "A Physician's Role in Advocacy and Civic Engagement," provided by Dr. Mike Aylward, MD. Physicians are granted power and privilege by society, but how can we best utilize these to enact change in the communities we live in, the systems we work in, and the states we vote in? We will be discussing how physicians can be successful advocates and societal change agents. Specifically, we will define advocacy and discuss strategies and tactics for being a citizen-physician.

This discussion will be followed by a breakout session for each chapter:

Minnesota breakout session speaker - Dr. Matt Klein, MD
Iowa breakout session speaker - Dr. Jon Van Der Veer, DO
North Dakota and Wisconsin's breakout sessions will be group discussions about state advocacy.
