Sandeep R. Pagali is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Dr. Pagali is a Geriatrician and Academic Hospitalist. He is the medical director for "Medical Officer of the Day (MOD)", the medical admission triage team, and the inpatient Geriatrics consults team at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
His career and academic interests include older adult care and process optimization in hospital medicine workflow. His research focuses on optimizing delirium care in hospitals, including delirium prediction, optimizing care for older adults with dementia, and analyzing transfer center data to identify trends used to facilitate transfer process improvement. He also has research grants from Mayo Clinic and the NIH supporting his studies on delirium and dementia. He is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows during their clinical rotations.
He is the Immediate Past Chair of the SHM Quality Improvement SIG and the Vice Chair of the Interhospital Transfer SIG. Dr. Pagali is also a member of the American Geriatrics Society and serves on the Clinical Practice and Models of Care Committee and the Clinical Practice Committee in the Post-Acute Long Term Care Society.
