The SHM NYC/Westchester Chapter will be hosting an in-person event on Monday, March 18th at 6:00 p.m. ET at Dock's Oyster Bar in NY, NY. Please join the chapter for networking and for an educational presentation titled "Artificial Intelligence for the Hospitalist," provided by Drs. Andrew Mergl and Theresa Scott.
Andrew Mergl is currently a hospitalist at The Mount Sinai Hospital. He is originally from Niagara Falls, Canada, and initially moved to New York City for his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Queens in Flushing, and also serving as chief resident after graduating. His special interests in medicine include artificial intelligence and space medicine. During residency he married his wife and is now living in New York with his wife and two kids. Outside of work, he enjoys various hobbies including DIY home improvement projects, computer programming, and backwoods camping.
Dr. Theresa Scott is a pediatric hospitalist, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, and Associate Pediatrics Clerkship Director at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her current research involves assessment tool development in emerging technologies, notably telemedicine. She is a new member of the New York-Presbyterian “WP Carey Residency AI/Big Data Working Group,” a bi-campus collaboration to bring artificial intelligence research opportunities to trainees.
