SHM NC Triangle Chapter Scientific Abstract Competition

The SHM NC Triangle Chapter will host an in-person event on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. ET at Apella by Alexandria in Durham, NC.

Please join the chapter for an evening of networking, live poster judging, and friendly competition featuring the Annual Scientific Abstract Competition and a Resident Teaching Competition. The event will showcase the academic work and teaching skills of physicians and trainees from across the North Carolina Triangle area.

Poster presentations and live judging will take place throughout the evening, with the Resident Teaching Competition scheduled from approximately 7:00–8:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at approximately 8:45 p.m

Call for Abstracts:
Become more involved in your local SHM chapter while sharing new discoveries with your hospital medicine community. Submit your research abstract for the chance to present at the NC Triangle Chapter Scientific Abstract Competition. All physicians, residents and students are eligible to participate. At least one of the authors must be a current member of SHM to participate.
