The SHM Oregon/SW Washington Chapter will be hosting an in-person meeting on Thursday, December 12th at 6:00 p.m. PT at McMenamin's Kennedy School in Portland, OR. Please join the chapter for an evening of dinner and social networking. The chapter's guest and inspirational speaker, Dr. Rachel Thompson, Past President of the SHM Board of Directors, will be delivering a presentation titled "The State of Hospital Medicine".

Dr. Thompson currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at Snoqualmie Valley Health District in Snoqualmie, Washington. Since joining SHM in 2006, she has volunteered with the Pacific Northwest Chapter and Perioperative Special Interest Group. She has been actively involved in SHM Chapter development nationally and locally. Dr. Thompson joined the SHM Board of Directors in 2017 and served as Treasurer prior to becoming President-Elect, 2021 and President in 2022.
