The SHM NC Triangle Chapter will be holding their next event in person on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. ET at the Conference Center at NCBioTech in Research Triangle Park, NC. Please join the chapter for networking and for the chapter's annual Scientific Abstract Competition. 

Call For Abstracts
Become more involved in your local SHM chapter while sharing new discoveries with your hospital medicine community. Submit your research abstract for the chance to present at the NC Triangle Chapter Scientific Abstract Competition. All physicians, residents and students are eligible to participate. You do not need to be a current member of SHM to participate and you may submit as many abstracts as you would like. There is no cost to participate or to attend the competition. Submission Deadline: Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Announcement of Acceptance: Friday, September 2, 2022

Finalist Announcement: Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to create a poster to display and compete at the October 5, 2022 North Carolina Triangle Chapter meeting. Invitations and instructions for poster presentations will be provided upon notification of selection.

One overall winner will receive automatic abstract acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition taking place at SHM’s annual conference, Converge, March 26-29, 2023 in Austin, Texas. They will also receive a complimentary registration and a $500 travel stipend to attend the conference. The winners from the other two categories will also receive a complimentary registration and a $250 travel stipend each to attend the conference.
