The SHM Rocky Mountain Chapter is pleased to collaborate with the Colorado Hospital Association for a joint meeting on Monday, November 21st at 6:00 p.m. MT. On November 9th, Colorado hospitals and health systems activated the Combined Hospital Transfer Center (CHTC) due to the notable increases of flu, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases, which are challenging hospital capacity, especially for the pediatric population. Colorado’s hospitals with larger pediatric capacity are reporting record-breaking inpatient volumes and single-day emergency department visits due to respiratory illnesses. As part of this activation, adult hospitals are now accepting older pediatric patients. This session will focus on providing inpatient care for pediatric patients admitted to adult hospitals.
